The newly appointed Daily Show host Trevor Noah is being criticized by many people in the U.S. regarding his older tweets which appeared to be criticizing Jewish and women. Trevor Noah, a South African comedian known for his jokes which sometimes touch on very sensitive topics, spares no one in his jokes even himself but then this is comedy, no one should be offended , it’s all about laughing out loud some will say.

Noah went on to his twitter account so as to defend his actions tweeting that, “To reduce my views to a handful of jokes that didn’t land is not a true reflection of my character nor my evolution as a comedian”.

The Jewish and women jokes aside, there is no doubt that this South African comedian is very talented and he has come to be known for his jokes about his childhood life in South Africa’s apartheid era where he felt like a bag of weed when his parents used to deny him when they see a police.

A spokesperson for comedy central also defended the actions by Trevor Noah by stating that, “like many comedians Trevor Noah pushes boundaries; he is provocative and spares no one, he included. To judge him or his comedy based on a handful of jokes is unfair. Trevor is a talented comedian with a bright future at comedy central.”

The hiring of Trevor Noah as the host of the Daily Show was not welcomed by many people in the U.S. with some stating that he was only hired because of his good looks and he is not really funny. Whether that is true or not can only be known once the South African based comedian takes up the task.
